A personal way to remember the pets we love.
I’m Adrienne, the artist behind Lavender Threads. I draw custom charcoal portraits from your pet’s photograph, with special care for the eyes and the expression you know by heart.

The dogs who inspired Lavender Threads
Within six months in 2026, our family lost four beloved dogs: my Rosie, 19; my sister’s Frodo, 15; my dad’s Ruby, 16; and my daughter’s Moose, just 3.
I got Rosie when my youngest son was still in diapers. He’s now a sophomore in college. These dogs were woven into our everyday lives and so many of our family’s cherished memories.

Frodo
My sister’s dog, Frodo, was 15. I drew his portrait for her birthday as a meaningful way to remember him.

Creating each portrait gave me a quiet, meaningful way to process my grief. Focusing on the features that made each dog so special—their eyes, their expressions, and the small details we never want to forget—has become an ongoing part of healing for me.
I chose Moose’s portrait photo because his gaze was directed straight at my daughter, capturing the special bond they shared. In that connection, I could see the love, trust, and companionship that made him such an important part of her life.
This experience inspired Lavender Threads. Through my handmade pet portraits, I create thoughtful, personal artwork to honor the beloved companions who become part of our families. Each portrait is made to preserve the memories we carry with us and offer a meaningful reminder of the love that remains.
For the companion beside you, or the one you carry in your heart, I’d love to create a portrait for your family.
Commission your pet’s portrait
Made personal for you
Commission a new, original 8 × 10-inch charcoal portrait of your own pet on canvas or pastel paper. The flat price is $150 for one pet, unframed, including packaging and standard U.S. shipping. The portraits shown are examples of my artwork, not pieces for sale.
Your pet’s name can be included on the sketch at no extra charge. Tell me the exact spelling of your pet’s name and whether you would like canvas or pastel paper. Order and complete payment first, then email your photos, canvas or pastel paper choice, and your pet’s name with your order number. I’ll contact you if I have questions before I begin.
Finished and packaged with care
Your finished charcoal portrait is sealed with fixative to help protect it from smudging. It is carefully protected for mailing and presented in black tissue with a soft lavender ribbon. Packaging and standard U.S. shipping are included in the $150 price.
Please handle your original artwork gently, avoid touching or rubbing the drawn surface, and keep it dry and out of direct sunlight.
